Q. Who can consign their items and become a seller? A. Anyone can consign their children's items with Bear Valley MOPS Sale.
Q. Do consignors get to shop before the public? A. No, but volunteers do. Please see the volunteer sign-up for specific times.
Q. Are children allowed at the presale? A. No, no children are allowed at the presale. This will be STRICTLY enforced.
Q. What percentage of the sales do I receive? A. Consignors receive 70% of their sales. 30% is considered a donation to the Bear Valley MOPS. You will be given a donation form along with your check and unsold items when you pick them up on Monday, March 19th.
Q. Who does the pricing? A. You set your own price and you decide if it is discounted on our 50% off Saturday. Buyers will pay a fair price for your items, which is generally 1/3 of retail. Items not priced near this baseline usually do not sell. Please price your items appropriately.
Q. What percentage of my items can I expect to sell? A. Most sellers sell approximately 70-80% of their clothing items in sizes 2-10. For sizes under 24 months the percentage of sales drops due to the sheer volume of merchandise brought in by consignor's to sell, and the fact that people tend to receive infant clothing as gifts, hand me downs etc, therefore they do not have a need to buy these items. The older sizes (12-16 and up) also will sell a lower percentage as children become pickier as they near the teen and pre-teen years.

Q. How long should I give myself to drop off my items? A. The multi-step check in process typically takes about an hour to complete. Your items will be inspected and unaccepted items will be given back to you. There are two designated check in areas -- toys and clothing. You will need to have your items inspected in the appropriate area. We do have wagons to help bring in your items from your vehicle. Please be sure to check http://www.safekids.org/product-recalls to help you know what items have been recalled as we will not accept anything on this list.
Q. When do I pick up my unsold items? A. Unsold items are to be picked up on Monday, March 19th between 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm All items not picked up at that time will automatically be donated to our non-profit partners.
Q. What if I work and can't make the pick up time work for my schedule? A. You are welcome to have a friend pick up your items for you. Any items not picked up will be automatically donated to our local charities. Please be sure to bring a photo ID to pick up your check and unsold items. If you need to make arrangements for someone else to pick up your check and unsold items, please send us an email with the name of the person who will be picking up your check and unsold items to email@example.com.
Q. Do I have to sort through the racks to find my unsold clothing items? A. No, when you pick up your unsold items, your hanging garments and other items will already be sorted by Consignor Number for easy pickup.
Q. When will I receive my check? A. Checks will be available at item pickup on Monday March 19th, between 4pm-7pm. Please be sure to bring a photo ID to pick up your check and unsold items. If you need to make arrangements for someone else to pick up your check and unsold items, please send us an email with the name of the person who will be picking up your check and unsold items to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q. Will I know what items have sold? A. During and after the sale you will be able to login to your account to see what items have or have not sold.
Q. Where do I find safety pins and child sized hangers? A. You are welcome to use any hanger you have on hand (wire, plastic, etc.) however please make sure it fits the clothing appropriately! Putting a baby outfit on an adult-sized hanger may prevent that item from selling, as it distorts the clothing. Please try to put size 7 and under on child sized hangers. Child sized hangers can be purchased at Target, Walmart, etc.
Q. If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale? A. No. Consignors will have their items received on Tuesday March 13th between 2 pm - 8 pm, or Wednesday March 14th between 8 am - 2 pm and volunteers will put them out on the selling floor during the designated drop-off times. If you are able to volunteer and help out during the sale you can shop early on Thursday March 15th.
Q. What items are you accepting? A. We accept anything related to babies or children. The clothing must be in good condition. No holes, tears, stains etc. will be accepted. Great items to bring to the sale are toys, books, videos, strollers, baby equipment, breast pumps, nursery items, large play equipment, bedding, changing tables, sporting equipment, rocking chairs, bikes, bike trailers, etc. Please check the Recall information on our website for links to all the current recalls. Be a responsible seller!
Q. What about shoes? A. Please bring only your best shoes. Shoes will be inspected separately and we are very picky. These items are easily worn out and will not sell if they are worn. Please don't spend your time tagging shoes that have any scuffing, look worn, or are have not been washed. Please see Seller Instructions on how to tag shoes.
Q. What about stuffed animals? A. We only accept battery operated stuffed animals (lights, sound, movement).
Q. What about VHS tapes? A. We ONLY accept DVDs and BluRays. No VHS tapes will be accepted.
Q. What about cribs? A. We do not allow drop side cribs. Fixed side cribs will only be sold at our sale.
Q. Can children volunteer during the sale? A. Minors (age 9+) who wish to volunteer during the sale may do so. Minors ages 9-13 will need to be supervised by a parent/guardian during the same shift on NON SALE days. Minors (age 14+) are welcome to volunteer unsupervised. Minors (age 16+) are allowed to volunteer in the checkout room. Minors under the age of 16 are not allowed in the checkout room during any shift during the MOPS sale.
